I walked for days through the djungel and I met some of the most amazing people I have ever met. I experienced so much beauty and joy. It was like time traveling hundreds of years back in time. The forest communities live in a way, that many of us in the west dream about these days, close to nature in eco villages and in simplicity. This is a place where the electricity have not yet arrived and you follow the beautiful rhythm of the sun, so inspiring and relaxing.
I will over the coming years photograph and produce a documentary film about rainforest’s all over the world. The aim is to inspire people and companies to support the forest communities, in their mission to protect the rainforest that is still standing. You do that by carbon compensating your footprint with REDD+, a brilliant concept developed by UN where a major part of the money goes back to the community. It give the them a way to make a living and develop by keeping the trees standing. Before REDD+ the trees only had value when they were cut down.
I am so so so happy to share these images and video with you all. It is one of the most amazing things I have ever produced and experienced. The plan is also to do remaining ABC Charity letters with indigenous people, giving them a voice and to share their wisdom with the world.
